General
What is TikTok Counter?
TikTok Counter is a free tool that lets you track any public TikTok account's follower count, total likes, video count, and following in real time. You can also compare two accounts side by side and calculate an account's engagement rate.
Is TikTok Counter affiliated with TikTok?
No. TikTok Counter is an independent, third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TikTok or its parent company ByteDance in any way.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No account required.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The site is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile or desktop browser.
Live counter
How does the counter work?
Enter a TikTok username and click Track. The tool fetches that account's public stats from TikTok's API and then automatically refreshes them every 10 seconds, so you can watch the numbers update in real time without reloading the page.
How often do the stats update?
Every 10 seconds. Just leave the tab open after clicking Track and the numbers will keep refreshing automatically.
Are the numbers accurate?
The numbers come directly from TikTok's public API and match what TikTok shows on a creator's profile page. Note that TikTok rounds very large numbers in its own UI, so a profile showing "12.3M" may have anywhere between 12,250,000 and 12,349,999 followers. When the full unrounded number is available in the API, TikTok Counter displays it.
Can I track private accounts?
No. Private accounts don't expose public stats through TikTok's API, so the counter only works with public profiles.
Why did the follower count suddenly drop?
TikTok periodically purges bot, spam, and inactive accounts, which can cause follower counts to drop noticeably, sometimes by millions for large accounts, even when the creator is posting actively. This is a TikTok platform event, not a reflection of the creator's content or performance.
Does it work for brand accounts, not just personal creators?
Yes. Any public TikTok account (personal creator, brand, media company, or otherwise) can be tracked as long as the profile is set to public.
Compare
How does the Compare tool work?
Go to the Compare page and enter two TikTok usernames. The tool fetches both accounts and displays their follower counts, likes, videos, and following side by side with a bar chart so you can instantly see the difference between them.
How many accounts can I compare at once?
Two accounts at a time.
Engagement rate
What is engagement rate?
Engagement rate is a measure of how actively an audience interacts with a creator's content relative to the size of that audience. A high engagement rate means a large proportion of followers are actively liking or interacting with posts, generally a stronger signal of audience quality than raw follower count alone.
How is engagement rate calculated?
TikTok Counter calculates engagement rate as total likes divided by followers, expressed as a percentage. This is a simple, commonly used approximation. Because TikTok's public API does not expose per-video comment or share counts, a more granular calculation isn't possible.
What's considered a good engagement rate on TikTok?
Generally speaking: above 6% is excellent, 3–6% is good, 1–3% is average, and below 1% is low. Smaller accounts tend to have higher engagement rates than very large ones. A creator with 10,000 followers typically sees a higher rate than one with 10 million, simply because niche audiences are often more active.

Do you store the usernames I search for?
No. Usernames are sent directly to TikTok's API to fetch stats and are not logged or stored by us.
